Clams are fully cooked when they open completely.
If you have certain health conditions that place you in an at-risk category, you should not eat raw clams. These include diabetes, liver disease, hemochromatosis, or any illness or medical condition that weakens the body's immune system. If you are unsure about your risks, please consult a physician.
