When Dr. Peirson joined Ballard
Fish and Oyster Company in 1983,
he spent 4 years in the research
and development stage, building upon
the work of Virginia Institute of Marine
Science to create the hatchery program
which Cherrystone Aqua-Farms still
uses today.
